It all begins with the paper.

Invitations this special aren’t something people throw away. It’s the very first impression your guests will have of a party they will never forget!

Hi! I’m Abbey. As your stationer, I openly share my expertise and guide you through the entire invitation design process. All my work is design-driven but form certainly follows function. I take care of all the nitty gritty details and explain what you need (and don’t need) on your invitations. My favorite thing is being able to infuse each of personalities into the design and create something unique and elevated. Your invitations will not only be special to you but will make an amazing keepsake for everyone on your guest list.

One of the most common comments I hear is, “I haven’t done this before and have no idea where to start.” Don’t worry; that’s what I’m here for!

As a full-time stationer and calligrapher, 99% of my clients are brand new to wedding planning. My entire design process is simple and fully online. Plus — not only am I an etiquette lover, I also have 13+ years of professional design experience to give you peace of mind and the utmost confidence that your invitations will be absolutely stunning. I encourage you to look at what I’ve created for past clients in the Invitations Gallery.

Booking & Timeline

Since everything I create is one of a kind, I begin your project about 7 months prior to your big day. Booking your project typically happens much earlier than that. I always recommend booking custom invitation projects at least a year or so out as there are a limited number of openings per season.

As for timing, leave the logistics to me. I provide you with your custom timeline outlining our estimated design, production, and mailing windows based on the actual details of your wedding.

Short on time? Contact me if you’ll need to turn around your invitations in less than six months so we can discuss our options.

Investment

Pricing varies greatly depending on quantity, print method, and any extras you may have your heart set on. Once I know a few details, I can create a starting proposal for your project. I recommend allocating at least 10% of your total budget for wedding stationery. The minimum investment is $3,000 for custom invitations. Our average client invests $5,000 and upwards of $8,000 for more complex designs.

The Design Process

Are you wondering what the experience is like when you work with me? It’s a tried and tested three-step process:

STEP ONE — Inspiration + Sketch

Before starting your design, I will ask you to fill out a questionnaire where I will gather lots of details to help me see your vision and get to know you both better. I will take that questionnaire and turn it into a visual design board with lots of photos that I will use to draw inspiration from.

After you approve the design board, I will move onto sketching out my ideas. This is a black-and-white sketch where I will lay out the pieces of your suite to show scale, placement, and the overall aesthetic. While this won’t show much detail yet, it’s our starting point before the fun happens.

STEP TWO — Design + Proof

Once your initial sketch concept is approved, I move onto the actual design of your suite. I will calligraph, illustrate, design, and source each part of your suite by hand; I add all the color and pretty details. Step two is most clients’ favorite because you will receive your first full-color, full-detail, digital proof! It will show your entire suite, all together (with close-ups!), so you know exactly how your invitations will look and feel. If you have changes, unlimited revisions will continue until everything is approved. I aim to keep revisions under three rounds so we don’t have to push back your schedule and timeline.

STEP THREE — Production + Assembly

Once we have final approval, I will begin printing and production. After this point, we are nearly done! Once everything is printed, based on the level of service you request, I will either fully assemble your suite and mail them for you OR I will send all finished pieces to you for assembly and mailing.

The Client Portal

What’s the best way to keep us both organized (and keep your planner in the loop)? Have everything online!

Our online software allows us to communicate in one place, stores and keeps track of invoices and due dates, and lets us refer back to our contract and other forms if we need to.

All of your proofing rounds will be stored here as well, making the entire process streamlined. If your wedding planner is taking the lead with invitation design, you can still have the option to access the Client Portal as well.

The Client Portal is also mobile-friendly which means you can access your project anywhere — and if you’re anything like me, that means tackling that to-do list before bed!

Current clients can log in here: Portal Login
